ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION- 1
CREATING FIRELINES

Protective Fire-Lines
Wildfires and forest fires are probably the worst case of Environmental Degradation causing extensive damage to the flora and fauna of the region and contributing to atmospheric pollution and global warming.

More emphasis should be given to combatting forest fires rather than tree planting, as the forests can spring back on their own.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION - 2
COMBATTING FOREST FIRES

Vigilant as ever
Confronng forest fires is a very risky and demanding work. For as long as the fire lasts, the teams have to try to put them out wherever possible and to prevent them from spreading further. At mes it has taken almost 36 hours of connuous monitoring.

ARTS & CRAFTS

New Avenues for Employment
Generating employment opportunities is at the core of our work and we are holding Art Camps and Workshops in collaboration with arts and artisans from all over the country to train and produce art pieces and Handicrafts that can become a permanent source of income for the countless families living in the hills.

CULTURE & VILLAGE TOURISM

The HEAL Foundation is partnering with people from nearby villages to develop Homestays and attract tourists, thereby creating more employment  opportunities and reversing the tide of Mass migration to cities.

The HEAL Foundation is conducting workshops for women, particularly widows, from the villages, to make various products like Premium Handmade Soaps and Herbal Incense Cones using cold pressed oils and handpicked Himalayan herbs and steeped with care and love. The products create employment opportunities for women in rural areas of the Garhwal Himalayas, empowering them, and help in stemming the tide of mass migration to urban areas. Through involvement in product processing and packaging in the villages of Eeda Malla near Satpuli, and village Faldakot Malla in Yamkeshwar.al, Uttarakhand, this venture has provided direct and indirect support to many families.
